Rahul Anand MD, MBA

Who I am

I am an Infectious Diseases Physician, Medical educator, Scholar, Leadership, Teamwork and Health Systems Science enthusiast, and Lifelong learner. The purpose of this site is to share ideas and work in the fields of leadership, teamwork, health systems science and all things related to Infectious Diseases with anyone who is interested in learning and engaging.

Current Roles: My current full time role is as faculty at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. I direct an award-winning elective curriculum on leadership and teamwork for medical students and health professions students. I have served as a faculty fellow at the Albert Schweitzer Institute, at the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and at the Center for Interprofessional Healthcare Education. My clinical work is in the fields of Infectious Diseases, HIV and Lifestyle Medicine, currently as the Director of Infectious Diseases at Community Health Services, Hartford. 

Background and Training: I trained in Delhi, India including medical school and residency at Delhi University. In 2004, I moved to the US and completed my Medicine residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, followed by an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. I also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation focusing on implementation science and quality improvement, and an MBA (healthcare track) at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. 

My work experiences range from the underserved areas of Hartford, CT and Bronx, NY running an HIV center of excellence, to working at the University of Utah and the George E. Wahlen Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City practicing travel and tropical medicine, transplant ID and orthopedic ID, to practicing across the spectrum of community based clinical infectious diseases and serving as the Hospital Epidemiologist for Middlesex Health in Middletown, Connecticut. I have served as guest faculty for the Infectious Diseases Society of America’s Leadership Institute, and the Harvard Macy Institute at Harvard Medical School.
